Use case

Build an inventory app for your jewellery shop from a single prompt

A jewellery counter does not track "units" — it tracks grams, purity, making charges and a rate that moves every morning. Kashvi builds you a real stock app tuned to exactly that: type what you sell and how you price it, and you get a working app with a live database, staff logins, and full code you own. It runs on the web and as a real Android and iOS app, so your karigar, your counter staff and your accountant can all use the same stock the moment a piece is sold.

Generic inventory tools break the first time a customer asks "aaj ka rate kya hai?". They assume a fixed price per item. Your price is rate x net weight, plus making charges, plus GST — and it changes the day the rate changes. Kashvi understands that from the prompt and generates the pricing logic, the item fields and the screens for it, instead of handing you an empty spreadsheet to bend into shape.

What a jewellery stock app actually needs

When you describe your shop, Kashvi wires up the fields and calculations that a jeweller lives on — not the ones a hardware store needs. Each piece is a real record with the weights, purity and identity a BIS-hallmarked item carries in India:

  • Live gold and silver rate you set each morning, with prices across the whole catalog recalculating from gross weight, stone/wastage deduction and net weight
  • Per-item purity (22K, 18K, 24K, 925 silver) and making charges as either a flat amount or a percentage of metal value
  • HUID (Hallmark Unique ID) captured per piece so hallmarked stock is traceable and no two records collide
  • GST-ready billing — 3% on jewellery value, separate line for making charges — with an invoice you can print or send on WhatsApp
  • Old-gold exchange: log the customer's old ornament weight and purity, deduct its value, and adjust net payable
  • Staff logins with roles, so counter staff can bill and sell but only the owner edits rates, deletes stock or sees margins

How Kashvi builds it

You write a prompt in plain English. Kashvi provisions a real Postgres database for your stock, sign-up and login for your staff, and generates every screen — add-item, live-rate panel, billing, daybook. A live preview appears as it builds, so you watch your shop's app take shape and refine it by asking for changes in the same chat. When you are happy, you download the entire codebase. There is no proprietary runtime and no lock-in: the app is yours to host, hand to a developer, or extend later.

"Build a jewellery stock app where I set today's gold and silver rate each morning, and every item's price is net weight x rate plus making charges plus 3% GST. Track purity and HUID per piece."

"Add old-gold exchange: at billing let staff enter the customer's old ornament weight and purity, value it at today's rate, and subtract it from the total."

"Give me an owner login that can edit the daily rate and see profit per sale, and a counter-staff login that can only add stock and generate bills."

"Add a low-stock and category view — rings, chains, bangles, coins — with total grams in hand per category, and a daybook of the day's sales I can review at closing."

Because the same build ships as a web app and as native Android and iOS apps, the karigar updating repair jobs from the workshop and the owner checking the daybook from home are looking at one live stock, not three copies drifting apart. And because credits are refunded when an AI generation fails, you are only charged for work that actually lands.

Questions

Frequently asked

Can it price everything from today's gold and silver rate?
Yes. You set the day's rate for each metal and purity, and every item's price is computed from its net weight times that rate plus making charges. Change the rate in the morning and the whole catalog updates at once, so a bill printed at 11 am reflects the correct rate.
Does it handle HUID and hallmarking?
Each piece can carry its own HUID (Hallmark Unique ID) as a unique field, so hallmarked stock stays traceable and you cannot accidentally enter the same piece twice. You decide which categories require it when you describe the app.
Are the bills GST-compliant for a jewellery shop?
Kashvi generates invoices with metal value and making charges as separate lines and 3% GST applied to jewellery value, which you can print or send to the customer over WhatsApp. You should still confirm the exact tax treatment with your accountant for your state and turnover.
Can I stop staff from changing rates or seeing profit?
Yes. The app comes with real logins and roles. Counter staff can add stock and raise bills, while editing the daily rate, deleting items and viewing margin per sale stay locked to the owner login.
Do I really own the code, or is this a rented tool?
You own it. When the build is ready you download the full source — the database schema, the app code, everything. There is no proprietary runtime, so you can host it yourself or hand it to any developer to extend.
Does the same app work on mobile at the counter?
The build ships as a web app and as real Android and iOS apps from the one prompt, all reading the same live database. Sell a piece on the counter tablet and it is gone from the owner's phone view instantly.
